A new position, Lethbridge County is hoping that their latest hire can help to foster growth in the area.

It has hired Trevor Lewington as its first-ever Director of Growth and Engagement.

He says, “I am thrilled to join Lethbridge County in the newly created role of Director, Growth and Engagement at such a pivotal time. The County’s vision of being Canada’s most innovative rural community, and its commitment to shared prosperity, strong relationships, and regional diversification, deeply resonate with me.”

Lewington has spent the last decade as the CEO of Economic Development Lethbridge.

Lethbridge County says he has been instrumental in advancing the region’s economy, supporting the growth of local businesses, and building collaborative partnerships to foster long-term prosperity.

Lewington will lead the County’s economic development strategy, including investment attraction, business retention and expansion, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnerships.

His portfolio also includes oversight of the County’s Marketing and Communications department, intergovernmental relations, and issues management.

Lethbridge County Reeve Tory Campbell says they have identified the importance of investment attraction, aligning their infrastructure and land-use planning with growth needs, and simplifying pathways for responsible development.

“Now is the time to pursue new avenues or opportunity and harness our strengths to ensure Lethbridge County remains an economic driver for the next ten, 20, 50 years and beyond,” says Tory Campbell.

Campbell adds, “Global economic uncertainty, shifting industry needs, and rapid technological change demand that we act with purpose and agility. This role allows us to be proactive — not reactive — in attracting investment, supporting innovation in agriculture, and creating the kind of regional partnerships that sustain long-term prosperity.”

Lewington will start his new role on Nov. 12, 2025.
