Ensuring Safety
Alberta RCMP provides Halloween safety tips
Oct 29, 2025 | 4:00 PM
Alberta RCMP has released a list of safety tips ahead of Halloween this Friday.
Whether you’re trick-or-treating, handing out candy, attending a party, or staying home, police say we can all do our part to ensure everyone’s safety.
Trick-or-treaters:
- Wear brightly coloured costumes and use reflective tape or glow sticks to be more visible to drivers.
- Use a flashlight and stay in well-lit areas.
- Wear makeup instead of a mask. Masks can impair vision and hearing. If wearing a mask, remove it while walking from house to house and crossing streets.
- Always walk on sidewalks.
- Stay on one side of the street at a time and avoid crisscrossing back and forth across roads. Cross the street where and when it’s safe to do so.
- Stay on the doorstep or sidewalk. Never go inside the home or car of someone you don’t know.
- Travel in groups if unsupervised.
