Lethbridge Public Library to host virtual dino bones, author Christmas market

The Lethbridge Public Library is looking to shine a light on several activities as the days get shorter and nights grow darker.

On Nov. 22, the Library will be hosting three different events across two of its locations.

At the Crossings branch, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., seniors are invited to an introduction to AI. Staff will discuss artificial intelligence in simple terms, explaining how to identify it in common tools, what the technology means for them, and how it’s shaping society.

Those who want to get ahead on their Christmas shopping can also visit the Local Author Christmas Market at the Main Branch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., where they can shop for authors based in Southern Alberta.

With shopping done, visitors are also invited to catch University of Lethbridge students at a Storytellers-at-Large showcase for all ages from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. that afternoon.

The following Saturday, Nov. 29, the Royal Tyrrell Museum team will be showing an up-close look at Alberta fossils and teaching participants how to clean dinosaur bones during a virtual excavation event.

More information on these and other events is available online through the Library’s website.
