Lethbridge County is advising the public of some upcoming maintenance work.

Beginning the week of Monday, Nov. 24, they say sanitary sewer repairs will take place in the Broxburn Business Park between Lethbridge and Coaldale.

It is meant to preserve the integrity and functionality of the sewer system.

The project will include:

  • Topsoil stripping
  • Installation of sanitary service caps
  • Backfilling and subgrade preparation
  • Gravel restoration
  • Grass restoration and landscape restoration

Crews will install caps on unused sections of piping of existing sanitary services on properties that do not currently have a building or active water service.

These properties have sanitary services that were previously installed to the property line and are ready for future tie-in, but the County says that because they do not have buildings on site, service has yet to be connected.

“Capping these sections prevents unnecessary maintenance issues and ensures the sanitary system remains clean and functional,” reads a public advisory from Lethbridge County.

The project’s contractor will be in contact with businesses in the park.

There should be no impact on traffic in the area, but drivers are asked to be careful around construction sites.

Weather permitting, this work should wrap up in about two weeks.
