The RCMP is advising the public that a man who is considered to be a high-risk offender has completed his sentence and has been released into the community.

They say Cody George Manyshots, 32, has been convicted of offences including possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, assault, kidnapping, sexual assault causing bodily harm, robbery, and uttering threats.

“The RCMP is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of the release of Manyshots,” reads a news release from Gleichen RCMP.

“The RCMP believes that there is a risk of significant harm to the health and safety of the public.”

Manyshots plans to reside in the Siksika Nation in southern Alberta.

He is described as 5’9″, 161 lbs, and has a medium complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.

The RCMP says Manyshots will be bound by conditions upon his release, which are meant to assist with his reintegration back into the community and for public safety.

Members of the public are advised that the intent of the process is to enable members of the public to take suitable precautionary measures and not to embark on any form of vigilante action.
