Residents of Lethbridge can learn more about plans to change an intersection on the south side.

The City of Lethbridge says it is moving forward with plans to construct a roundabout at the intersection of College Drive South and 28 Avenue/Tudor Boulevard South.

As seen in the image below, this would be to the west of the Servus Sport Centre and north of the main entrance to Lethbridge Polytechnic.

The City will host an open house on the matter on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at College Drive Community Church on 2710 College Drive South.

The project was first introduced during the 2025 Community Conversation event.

Staff have refined the idea and will share the finalized design at the open house, as well as answer any additional questions.

According to the City, the roundabout will improve east-west traffic flow during peak times, while maintaining current conditions for north-south travel.

It also aims to:

  • Enhance safety by reducing right-angle collisions
  • Lower vehicle speeds
  • Review intersection lighting upgrades
  • Improve transit access through upgraded bus stops

Construction is planned for summer 2026 to minimize disruptions to Polytechnic students.
