The Lethbridge Police Service has arrested a man who is accused of several recent incidents.

Members of the Downtown Policing Unit say they had observed more than two dozen cases of mischief between Oct. 21 and Nov. 21, where windows were smashed in the downtown core.

A person of interest was identified, and following further investigation, was charged in connection with nine of the incidents.

Damages totalled approximately $31,000.

In the remaining cases, LPS says there was insufficient evidence to support charges.

The suspect was located and arrested in late November.

Andy Troy Spear Chief, 38, of Lethbridge, is charged with nine counts of mischief.

Spear Chief was released from custody with conditions, including a prohibition from attending downtown.

He is scheduled to appear in court on January 21, 2026.
