Hwy 3 near Barnwell clear after ‘serious’ collision

The RCMP has provided a brief update on what it said was a serious collision over the weekend.

Officers with the Taber detachment said at 6:34 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, that they were called to a section of Highway 3 near Range Road 174.

That area is on the southern end of Barnwell.

Traffic was closed in both directions for several hours while emergency crews tended to those involved and investigated the scene.

As of 7:56 a.m. on Monday, the RCMP said that the highway is clear and traffic can resume as normal.

The police service did not provide any details on what happened, nor the extent of any injuries, but assured that an update will be provided later today.
