Holiday triple header: what’s open and what’s not

The holiday season is almost upon us, and that means a trifecta of statutory holidays!

• Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day)
• Friday, Dec. 26 (Boxing Day)
• Thursday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day)

The trio of stat holidays means the City will have service level changes.

Lethbridge 311

The Lethbridge 311 contact centre will be closed on all three stat holidays.

City Hall

City Hall will be closed from Monday, Dec. 29, to Thursday, Jan. 1. It will reopen on Friday, Jan. 2, to accept payments.

Waste and Recycling

The Waste and Recycling Centre will be closed on all three stat holidays.

Curbside collections scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 25, are moved to Saturday, Dec. 27. Curbside collections scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 1, are moved to Saturday, Jan. 3.

Community Animal Services

Community Animal Services and the Lethbridge Animal Shelter will be closed on all three stat holidays.

The public can access services on the website at any time, including dog license payments, appointment booking, online complaint reporting and searching a list of found pets impounded at the shelter.

Transit Service

There is no transit service on Thursday, Dec. 25.

Ride on Demand and Fixed Route transit schedules will run on holiday service (8 a.m. – 7 p.m.) on Friday, Dec. 26, and Thursday, Jan. 1.

The Lethbridge Transit customer service desk at City Centre Station will be closed on all three stat holidays.

Access-A-Ride[/roads-parking-transit/transit/access-a-ride/]

[/roads-parking-transit/transit/access-a-ride/]Access-A-Ride (AAR) will run pre-scheduled trips on holiday service hours (8 a.m. – 7 p.m.) on all three stat holidays. The AAR booking line will be closed on all three stat holidays, but trips can be booked on the app. Find more information on the Lethbridge Transit website.

Galt Museum & Archives/Fort Whoop-Up

The Galt Museum will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and all three stat holidays.

Fort Whoop-Up is closed for the season.

Helen Schuler Nature Centre

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre will be closed on all three stat holidays.

Extended hours (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) run from Dec. 23 – Jan. 3.

Lethbridge Public Library

Both branches of the Lethbridge Public Library will be closed on all three stat holidays.

The branches will also close early (4 p.m.) on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 31.
