Lethbridge woman faces drug trafficking charges

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has laid a series of charges against a local woman.

On January 1, 2026, members of the Downtown Policing Unit say they saw a woman who had outstanding warrants at an encampment on the 200 block of 7 Street North.

The officers claim to have located drug paraphernalia outside of her tent. When they went inside, LPS claims to have found a woman along with additional drug-related items.

She was arrested on site and without incident.

Upon a subsequent search of the tent, police say they located 340 doses of fentanyl, 370 doses of methamphetamine, numerous pills, crack cocaine, drug packaging, scales, other paraphernalia, and more than $7,700 in cash.

Several weapons were also reportedly seized, including a hatchet, a knife, and two machetes.

“Based on the evidence obtained, police believe the subject was engaged in selling drugs to the at-risk population downtown,” reads a news release from LPS.

Andrea Rachel Weasel Fat, 39, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Weasel Fat is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
