Winnipeg Jets push back ski goggle giveaway after Swiss ski resort fire
WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets are postponing a ski-related promotion in the wake of a deadly fire at a ski resort in Switzerland.
The National Hockey League team was planning an “après-ski”-themed night for its home game against the Los Angeles Kings on Friday.
The first 5,000 fans were to receive ski goggles.
The club says it’s pushing back the event to March 10, in recognition of the people killed and injured in the bar fire at a New Year’s party in Switzerland.
