New heat records set in southern Alberta

For the middle of January, it was quite warm in Alberta yesterday.
Environment Canada says heat records were broken in 15 communities across the province on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026.
The warmest community was Bow Island, which reached a high of 13 degrees Celsius, breaking its old record of 10.3 degrees set in 2021.
Medicine Hat was slightly cooler at 12.2 degrees, which ended its previous record of 10.7 degrees from 2021.
