City of Lethbridge launches snow clearing survey

Jan 20, 2026 | 3:16 PM

The City of Lethbridge wants to know what you think about its snowplowing efforts.

It has launched an online survey to gather feedback on things like plowing snow and ice to the right side of roads, the city-wide snow route network, and the subscription-based Windrow Assistance Service (WAS).

People who live along the snow route network and have mobility barriers with snow removal can sign up for WAS. It creates an opening along the curb or sidewalk after roads are plowed.

The City says that the 2024-25 winter season only had one snow event that warranted a snow route activation, and so far this season, there has also been one.

“While snow can present some challenges, a few more dumps this winter could actually provide important data for the pilot project,” reads a notice from the City of Lethbridge.

The survey can be accessed online here until March 22, 2026, and submissions will help to shape plans for next winter.

Feedback will also be included in a report to council this spring on the results of the four-year Snow and Ice Control Service Level trial.
