The RCMP is asking for your help in locating a suspect in a fatal collision from nearly half a year ago.

The investigation started on Aug. 25, 2025, when Brooks RCMP responded at about 4:10 a.m. to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Highway 1, near Range Road 131.

RCMP found a damaged vehicle with its doors open and located a deceased person on the road nearby.

The victim was identified as 30-year-old Christopher Rogers of Andrew, Alberta.

Following a public appeal for information, Brooks RCMP’s General Investigation Section identified a suspect believed to be in Medicine Hat.

Brooks RCMP seized a Volkswagen Jetta, and a forensic examination confirmed DNA evidence belonging to the victim.

Investigators later identified the driver as 28-year-old Subham Singh, who RCMP said left Canada in late August 2025 and is now wanted on a warrant, charged with failing to remain at the scene of a fatal collision.

Brooks RCMP thanked the public for assisting with the investigation and reminded drivers that the Criminal Code of Canada requires anyone involved in a collision to remain at the scene, provide identification and render aid, and failure to do so can result in criminal charges.
