This might be your best chance to learn more about what the City of Lethbridge and its community partners are working on.

The Community Conversation takes place Thursday, Jan. 29, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

Sara Peters, Senior Communications and Engagement Strategist with the City, says guests will be able to learn more about over 40 projects, programs and services.

“At these events, you’re talking to the subject matter expert on that specific project, so you’re talking directly to the person who knows about that project, can answer questions for you, and learn a bit more or maybe have some myths busted,” says Peters.

Some of the featured projects are a proposed north-south transportation corridor, changes to how property tax assessments and taxation notices are presented, and upgrades to the city’s water and wastewater treatment plants.

Others include:

  • Snow plowing & Windrow Assistance Service
  • Transit
  • Lethbridge Fire & Emergency Services
  • Public Art Master Plan
  • Recreation & Culture
  • Parks projects
  • Community Social Development
  • Lethbridge Land
  • 311
  • Procurement
  • Helen Schuler Nature Centre kids’ zone, and more

The Community Conversation will also feature family-friendly activities like free public skating from 3:00-7:00 p.m., sharing the ice with members of the Lethbridge Hurricanes from 4:00-5:00 p.m., and an Olympic and Paralympic Games-inspired activity zone from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Admission and parking are free, and attendees can enter to win prizes, including a Hurricanes prize package and tickets to upcoming events at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.
