Jan 29, 2026 | 11:10 AM

The Lethbridge Police Service, in partnership with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, is encouraging community members to register for the 2026 Polar Plunge and brave the cold for a cause.

This year’s event is set for Saturday, Feb. 7 in Festival Square along the 600 block of 3 Avenue South.

The annual Polar Plunge raises money and awareness for Special Olympics, while providing #freezinforareason bragging rights for those bold enough take an icy dip.

Afterwards, a hot tub, generously provided by Arctic Spas, will help restore core temperatures.

Individuals or teams can register in advance at https://soa.crowdchange.ca/127515  or 10 a.m. in Festival Square on the day of the event.

The cost to register is $50. Donations can be made using the same link and will also be accepted at the plunge. Tax receipts will be provided for amounts over $25.

All plungers must be a minimum of 16-years-old to participate.

Cool costumes are also strongly encouraged. Change tents will be available on site, however, there will be no secure storage for valuables.
