RCMP responding to ‘serious’ collision near Claresholm

UPDATE (6:20 p.m. Monday): The RCMP says three people died in the collision.

The Claresholm RCMP is advising the public of a “serious motor vehicle collision.”

The police force alerted the media just before noon on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026.

It occurred at the intersection of Highway 2 and 55 Avenue in Stavely, on the northern end of the community.

Northbound traffic on Highway 2 is down to one lane, but southbound travel is not affected.
