Person killed in vehicle fire in southern Alberta

Emergency crews say a deceased person was found inside a burning vehicle.

Firefighters from the Foothills, Diamond Valley and High River fire departments were called to a grass fire at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

It happened in an area south of Eden Valley, west of Nanton.

Once the fire was extinguished, first responders say a burned vehicle containing unidentified human remains was located.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes unit has taken over the investigation.
