Raymond shooting ruled a homicide

The RCMP says it is investigating a shooting in Raymond this past weekend as a homicide.

At approximately 2:18 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, officers received reports of shots being fired in the Town of Raymond.

One caller to 911 heard 20 “pops” in a matter of minutes, along with people yelling.

Members from the Raymond, Coaldale, Picture Butte and Cardston RCMP responded, along wtih the Lethbridge Police Dog Services.

A 22-year-old man from Calgary died.

The Lethbridge Police Service says it is also investigating the circumstances around a 26-year-old man from Calgary who attended Chinook Regional Hospital with a gunshot injury early Saturday morning.

“This incident is believed to be a targeted and isolated incident,” reads a media release from the Raymond RCMP.

The RCMP did not provide any details on the suspect or potential criminal charges.
