Environment Canada has issued a yellow advisory for blowing snow on Tuesday for all of southern Alberta.

In the Medicine Hat area, periods of snow are expected to start in the morning, with blowing snow in the afternoon. Up 15 cm of snow is expected by late Tuesday evening.

Those in the Lethbridge area can expect between 15 and 25 cm of snow.

Strong north to northwest winds gusting up to 70 km/h are anticipated to accompany the snow, causing poor visibility, with conditions set to improve Tuesday evening.

Similar conditions are forecast for the Lethbridge area.

The Brooks area is under a yellow warning for a winter storm.

Hazardous, blizzard-like conditions are expected in Brooks with snowfall between 15 and 25 cm expected.

It’s advised to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance.

Environment Canada advises continuing to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by them.
