Five individuals in Medicine Hat, including youths, face several charges after a robbery

The Medicine Hat Police Service responded to a report of a robbery attempt on Friday at about 10:46 p.m., located in the 700 block of Seventh Street Southwest.

Following the report, police say that a male victim reported being shot with a pellet gun and assaulted with bear spray by a group of five individuals.

Upon arrival, officers located three individuals, two youths and one adult, fleeing the area matching the descriptions provided.

Officers arrested the individuals and located several items in their possession, including bear spray, a revolver‑style pellet gun, and brass knuckles.

All three individuals were arrested and charged.

Facing a robbery charge is 18-year-old Chloe Carruthers‑Oldford. She was held for a judicial interim release hearing and was released from custody with a court date set for March 3, 2026.

A 16‑year‑old male who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act faces charges of robbery, assault with a weapon, obstruct a peace officer, resist a peace officer, carry a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, knowingly possess a prohibited weapon, and fail to comply with a probation order.

The youth was held for a judicial interim release hearing, released from custody, and scheduled to appear in Youth Justice Court on March 2, 2026.

A 17‑year‑old male who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, obstruct a peace officer, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, carry a concealed weapon, use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence.

The youth was held for a judicial interim release hearing, released from custody, and is scheduled to appear in Youth Justice Court on March 2, 2026.

Further investigation led to the identification of two additional adult suspects.

Both were located and arrested on Friday.

Connor Dominaux‑Moonie and Landan Armstrong, both 18-year-old, faces robbery and assault with a weapon charges.

Both were held for a judicial interim release hearing and then released from custody, scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on March 3, 2026.

The 36‑year‑old male victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
