Coalhurst council confirms town-led approach for Miners Days 2026

Mar 20, 2026 | 1:13 PM

The Town of Coalhurst will be leading the festivities for Miners Days 2026.

At their meeting Tuesday, Coalhurst town council directed administration to move forward with a town-led celebration, preserving major event components like the pancake breakfast, parade, and family festival.

The request before council was intended to help clarify the town’s role in Miners Days and determine the best path forward to support the event’s long-term sustainability.

Members of council discussed the pressure involved in delivering the event, noting the short timeline, budget pressures, and the importance of strong community participation, before choosing their current option.

Administration will continue planning for Miners Days 2026, with residents, businesses, and local organizations encouraged to take part in the planning by following the Town’s website (www.coalhurst.ca).

Council has also directed administration to organize public engagement sessions to plan for Miners Days 2027.

Miners Days 2026 is currently set for July 24-26, 2026.
