Coaldale Chamber announces Job Fair 2026 at new location

The Coaldale Chamber of Commerce has announced a new location for this year’s Job Fair 2026.

The Shift Community Recreation Centre (2600-16 Avenue), will be the site of this year’s event taking place Thursday, April 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Officials say this year’s move marks a significant enhancement to the event. They note, the Shift Community Recreation Centre is physically connected to Coaldale Prairie Winds Secondary School, and the Chamber has been working closely with Prairie Winds administration to coordinate student participation throughout the day.

Teachers will be bringing their classes to the Job Fair, representing more than 600 students who will explore career pathways, summer employment, and part-time opportunities directly with local employers.

“This year’s location creates a powerful opportunity to connect employers with the next generation of our workforce,” says Robert Woolf, President of the Coaldale Chamber of Commerce. “By partnering with Prairie Winds and hosting the event in a shared facility, we are intentionally removing barriers between students and employers. This is about building confidence, creating pathways, and strengthening Coaldale’s workforce for the future.”

In addition to local employers and organizations, Lethbridge Polytechnic and the University of Lethbridge will also be in attendance. Officials say their participation adds an important post-secondary component to the event, allowing students and job seekers to explore education and training pathways that align with local labour market needs.

“Having both Lethbridge Polytechnic and the University of Lethbridge join us elevates this event,” adds Woolf. “Students can see the full picture — from part-time jobs and summer employment to post-secondary programs and long-term career opportunities. It connects education, skills training, and local employment all in one place.”

Organizers highlight that Job Fair 2026 brings together employers, job seekers, students, post-secondary institutions, and non-profits for a full day of networking and hiring opportunities. Attendees can meet face-to-face with hiring managers, explore a wide range of industries, and even participate in on-site interviews. Participants will also have the chance to win prizes from various vendors, including the Coaldale Chamber of Commerce. Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes.

Chamber Director and Job Fair Coordinator Yumara Coteron expressed appreciation for the support of the Alberta Chamber of Commerce.

“We are grateful for the Alberta Chamber’s support in helping us create meaningful employment connections in our community,” says Coteron. “When business, education, and community partners collaborate, we create opportunities that have lasting and measurable impact.” This hiring event is supported by the Alberta Chambers of Commerce Hire by Referral initiative and the Government of Alberta.

Booth registration is $25 for Chamber Members, $50 for Non-Members, and free for Non-Profits, with lunch included for all vendors.
