A 49-year-old woman from Burdett, Alta, was taken to hospital with very serious injuries Wednesday afternoon after a train struck an SUV crossing the tracks near the community.
On March 25, 2026, at 2:39 p.m., Bow Island RCMP were called to the scene where a northbound SUV driving along Main Street in Burdett, just off Highway 3, had been struck by a CP Rail train while the vehicle was crossing the tracks.
