Nortera Lethbridge closure to affect 70 jobs

Nortera, a leading North American frozen and canned vegetable processor, announced it will close its Lethbridge, Alberta, facility in June 2026.

The company says it’s part of a strategic restructuring to consolidate its Canadian operations and stay competitive amid rising international imports.

Production volumes and select equipment from Lethbridge are set to be transferred to other Notera plants.

“Closing a facility is never an easy decsion, especially given the dedication of our Lethbridge team,” said CEO Hugo Boisvert.

“Current market pressures have made it essential for us to consolidate our operations. By optimizing our manufacturing footprint, we are securing the future and the competitiveness of Nortera.”

The company says the move affects approximately 70 employees.

In a release, the company thanked its Alberta partners for years of high-quality produce and collaboration.
