Apr 1, 2026 | 3:31 PM

An international Taekwondo competition is set to bring athletes and visitors from around the world to Lethbridge this summer.

The 2026 Taekwondo World Cup is set to take place July 4-5 at the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre and will be open to the public.

Organizers say the event is expected to draw competitors and families from across Canada and internationally.

The two-day competition will feature patterns, point sparring and continuous sparring, with participants ranging in age from six to over 50.

Event highlights include a dinner for leaders in the sport and a book signing featuring Pioneer GM C.K. Choi and other authors.

Organizers say proceeds from the event will support KidSport, a non-profit organization that helps children access organized sports.

The event runs daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the venue located at 101 Exhibition Way S.

More information, including registration details, is available online.
