Crowsnest Trail Pathway construction moves into phase two
Officials with the City of Lethbridge say the next step for a key connector project is ready to roll.
The fully paved, multi-use, three-kilometre Crowsnest Trail Pathway will connect the high-traffic corridor between Mayor Magrath Drive South and the WT Hill Business Park area. Once complete, the city says it will offer a smooth, convenient route with safety features like steel guardrails and buffer zones from nearby traffic.
Officials note, phase one wrapped up in late 2025. The city says that segment begins at Mayor Magrath Drive South and 4 Avenue South, and runs east, along the south side of Crowsnest Trail (Hwy 3), to 28 Street South.
Phase two kicks off Monday, April 6. Officials say this final stretch continues along the south side of Crowsnest Trail and into the WT Hill Business Park. It includes a protected pedestrian rail crossing, upgraded intersections and enhanced pedestrian connections. The city says the pathway will finish at 4 Avenue South and WT Hill Boulevard South – perfectly positioned to link with the future MPE Link Pathway.
