Three people are facing charges after RCMP seized an estimated $12,000 worth of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Coaldale.

RCMP say the seizure took place April 1 after the driver initially failed to stop for officers.

A 30-year-old woman, 27-year-old man, and 56-year-old man, all residents of Taber, have been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.

One of the male suspects also faces an additional charge of flight from police, while a second male suspect is charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

All three accused appeared before a justice of the peace. Two suspects were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Lethbridge on April 30.

A third suspect was remanded into custody and is set to appear in the same court on April 8.
