Apr 10, 2026 | 2:18 PM

The Veterans Association Food Bank is hosting a one-day “Stuff the Van” donation drive April 18 in west Lethbridge.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and aims to collect non-perishable food, hygiene products and household items for local veterans and their families.

Organizers say all donations will go towards supporting veterans in need.

“Events like Stuff the Van highlight the incredible generosity of our communities,” says Operations Coordinator, Mel Urquhart.

“Every item donated helps ensure that no Veteran goes without the essentials they need. It’s a simple way for people to make a real and immediate impact.”

The Veterans Association Food Bank operates across Alberta with locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge and Grande Prairie.

The non-profit offers food hampers, emergency support, advocacy and wellness programs tailored to veterans.

Volunteers are set to be on site during the event to collect donations and provide information about available services.

The organization is encouraging residents, families and businesses to contribute or help spread the word.
