Tying in with its six-decade anniversary, the Community Foundation of Lethbridge & Southwestern Alberta has awarded 60 non-profit groups in the region with just over $589,000 in grants.

The CFLSA says the money is coming from several sources including the foundation’s Communities Priorities Fund, the Henry S. Varley Fund for Rural Life, and mulitple field of interest funds.

Foundation executive director Charleen Davidson adds they’re especially excited for this year’s Spring Grants Celebration, which includes a one-time distribution to 11 organizations of $6,000 each for inclusive, free, and accessible community celebrations.

Since 1966, and crediting its generous donors for their success, the CFLSA has awarded over $24 million dollars back into the community.
