First-ever Wellness Wander in Lethbridge

Mental Health Week underway across Alberta, Canada

May 5, 2026 | 4:21 PM

May 4th through the 10th is Mental Health Week across the country.

The hope this year is that stronger connections can be built inside individual communities, including Lethbridge.

According to the World Health Organization, one in six people are experiencing loneliness or isolation, and David Gabert with the Alberta South regional office of the Canadian Mental Health Association hopes that can be changed with a new event, a scavenger hunt, they’re calling the Wellness Wander.

“Be it local businesses, be it different parks and recreation areas, be it some of the attractions we have here.”

Gabert says all the activities are designed, if you don’t have the ability to pay admission either today or this week, the activities for the scavenger hunt are all free.

That could be something as simple as taking a photo or video outside a business or attraction.

To take part, you can pick up a Wellness Wander passport from the Community LINKS desk at the Lethbridge Public Library.
