June 7, 1931 – May 6, 2026
It is with sadness but gentle relief we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, CAROL JANET HUTCHINSON (née Naish), of Warner, beloved wife of the late Ronald Hutchinson for 71 years, at the Milk River Health Centre on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at the age of 94 years, one month prior to her 95th birthday.
Mom was born in Los Angeles, California on June 7, 1931 the only daughter and second of four children of Lance and Helen Naish.
Left to cherish her memory are her five children: Rick, Mike, Kim, Michele and Wes (Julie); 11 grandchildren: Lori, Todd, Jennifer, Steven, Aaron, Jeremy, Lisa, Josh, Rachel, Nathan and Jonathan and numerous great-grandchildren; her only surviving first cousin Marge Lanni of Roseburg, Ore; nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her three brothers: Bob (Dottie/Jean), Wes (Marilyn) and Mike; her grandson, Ryan Hutchinson; and great-granddaughter Abigail Hutchinson.
Both of our parents were very civic minded; Mom volunteered through the Warner Evangelical Church and forty plus years at the Warner Memorial Library. She was a beautiful quilter and loved to knit. Dad was a member of the Lion’s Club; he served on both the school board and the church board and was a board member of the Warner Cemetery for 25 years. Dad’s love of competitive shooting took them all over for meets in both Canada and the U.S. His proudest achievement was the volunteer work at the Ben Avery Gun Range in Phoenix, Az where they were hosts and wintered for approximately 20 years. He was a Korean war vet having served in the U.S. Air Force. Mom and Dad made lifelong friends wherever they went.
One of their greatest joys was a daily Pinochle battle every morning for years!
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the following: Home Care, namely Chrissy and Tammy who were in our home almost daily as well as the excellent staff of the Milk River Medical Center. A huge thank you to our family and friends in the United States and Canada, as well as our friends at Wolf Creek Hutterite Colony who are like family.
Carol will be laid to rest with her husband Ronald Earl Hutchinson (August 7, 1927 – October 21, 2022) in the family plot at the Warner Cemetery on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. All are welcome to attend. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Warner Elks Hall.
Donations may be made in memory of Carol to the Warner Cemetery Improvement Association, Box 224, Warner, AB, T0K 2L0 or to The Village of Warner Library, Box 270, Warner, AB, T0K 2L0.
