While still considered one of the more reasonable places to live among large cities in Canada, April figures show that Lethbridge rental prices are still higher than four other Alberta communities including Fort Mac.
According to the latest survey by Rentals.ca, multi-purpose and condo asking prices in Fort McMurray averaged around $1,264 per month.
Renters in Grande Prairie, Red Deer, Medicine Hat, and Lethbridge paid about $200 a month more, with the Bridge City coming in at the highest at $1,471, although the study did discover a downward trend.
The average national rent in April was pegged at $2,027, down almost five percent; in Alberta, that figure was $1,757, a drop of 3.4 percent.
