Using data from the Province of Alberta and Canadian Drought Monitor, the Oldman Watershed Council has come out with its detailed Spring forecast.
It says drought conditions, as of mid-April, within the watershed are between Stage 1, none, and Stage 2, minor.
It says at that level there’s a moderate negative impact to the environment and while it’s considered stable, dry conditions are spreading prairie wide.
Thankfully, reservoirs have come up since the Fall, within or above expected water levels.
