ELSE RUPPS (née Ebner), of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Richard Rupps, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritans Park Meadows Village, surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the age of 92 years.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Marion) Rupps and her daughter, Karen (Robert) Hildebrandt; seven grandchildren: Tracy (Ryan) Feuffel, Roxanne Rupps, Matthew (Kerri) Hildebrandt, Casey (Kim) Rupps, Shawn Rupps, Courtney Rupps, David (Janelle) Hildebrandt, and honourary granddaughter, Caylee Leavitt; and nine great-grandchildren: Cael, Noah, and Ella Feuffel; Olivia, Emily, and Brooklyn Rupps; Rebecca and Jenna Hildebrandt; and Ethan Rupps. She is also survived by her sisters; Hedwig Littau and Gertrud (Erwin) Pohl, and brothers; Alfred Ebner and Reinhold (Josephine) Ebner, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, son, Ronald Rupps, her parents, Emil and Ella Ebner and four sisters, Wanda Schiemann, Agnes Schrage, Helen Bonn, and Ursula Heynen.

Else was born April 25, 1934 in Klonowo Poland. In 1945 she and along with her parents and siblings fled to Germany. In 1952 they immigrated to southern Alberta where they worked on sugar beet farms for several years. Else met Richard in 1952 and they were married November 6, 1954. They were inseparable for 65 years. They were blessed with three children to complete their family.

Else had a very strong faith, an active member at Christ Trinity Lutheran Church for many years and made 100’s of quilts for missions. She was a proud and accomplished homemaker and a wonderful cook and baker. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She loved knitting, doing needlepoint and trying out new crafts. Family was very important to Else and those that knew her said she was a wonderful woman and loved by all.

A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Else’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
