Public appeal in police impersonation case in the Bridge City
After charging a 20-year-old man with impersonating a law enforcement officer, police in Lethbridge are now asking the public if anyone might have been pulled over by the person charged in this case.
Authorities state it’s a criminal offence for someone to falsely represent themselves as a police or peace officer, or use a badge, uniform or, in this incident, a ‘decked out’ vehicle which included the lights and sirens usually seen on a police cruiser.
LPS recently charged Nicholas Waddell after a previous warning to remove the identifying features of his Ford Explorer that made it look like a police vehicle.
The service says the investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have had an interaction with the individual is being asked to call the LPS at 403-328-4444.
