Lethbridge to host Grand Slam of Baseball beginning Thursday
Starting Thursday and continuing through Sunday the 31st, Lethbridge will be home to the first-ever Canadian Grand Slam of Baseball Showcase and Festival. What started out as Spitz Stadium hosting a four-day Canadian College World Series tournament has now grown to include the Prairie qualifier for the Morneau Cup, the Bulls opening weekend, and a province-wide T-ball Jamboree.
“Hey, all this stuff is aligned at the same time why don’t we give it a name,” Lethbridge Bulls club president Kevin Kwame recalls.
“That’s how it started and once we gave it a name and looked at the fact that we’re another one of these major things again next Summer.”
Part of the celebration will include the Canadian Baseball Legends Gala and will feature a keynote speech from former Toronto Bluejay, and now TV analyst, Kevin Pillar. You can check out the details on the showcase and festival here.
