Raised as a child in Taber, and close to seven feet tall, Ross Bekkering has been almost all over the world doing what he enjoys – playing basketball.

Earlier this month, the 38-year-old former Olympian was inducted into the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame and he credits his success to the great support he had growing up…

“I think there’s a strong sports culture here, and specifically with basketball,” Bekkering surmises.

“I always felt connected to something unique in Canada. So, just the support you see, the passion you see from the fans. That was a really cool thing, especially as a youngster, to grow up, to develop, to learn the game. Again, just to be connected to an awesome community.”
