Charges have now been laid against a 50-year-old man in relation to the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl back in April.

The Lethbridge Police Service, in a statement late day Friday, said they were informed of an April 19th incident in which the teenager was reportedly touched inappropiately by the accused during a party on the city’s southside.

Andrew Brian Davies is facing one count of sexual assault and one for sexual interfererence of a person under 16.

It’s alleged the girl was taken to a bathroom in the home under the pretense of checking a sunburn she received earlier in the day.

Davies was arrested, but has been released from custody following a Judicial Interim Release hearing.

He is set to appear before a judge on June 19th.

The LPS continues its investigation into the matter and is asking any witnesses in this case to contact them at 403-329-4444 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
