Mentorship program links newer farmers with experienced producers

The Lethbridge-based organization, Farming Smarter, was recently told it was receiving a $15,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta.  

Communications coordinator Sean Kjos explained the money will help to fund a new mentorship program.

“New crops they’re interested in farming or equipment. Any practices of that nature,” Kjos clarified.

“And connect them with more experienced farmers or agronomists who have the skills and expertise in those areas, and who are willing and eager to connect with these younger or new farmers.”
