Free mulch, compost event POSTPONED by City of Lethbridge due to recent rain

Jun 3, 2026 | 10:30 AM

UPDATE:

This event has been postponed, due to the recent rain.

ORIGINAL STORY:

As part of Environment Week, the City of Lethbridge is giving away free compost and mulch later today, but only while supplies last.

Staff with the Waste & Environment department will be on hand, starting at 1:00, in the parking lot at VisitLethbridge.com Arena, but you’ll have to bring your own shovel, gloves, and container.

There’s a limit of 40 litres of compost and 40 litres of mulch, per household.

It’s one of two Environment Week events the City is putting on; the other: a recycling roundup to collect ‘tricky’ household waste like aerosol cans, used oil, paint, batteries, and electronics.

That’ll take place Saturday in the northwest parking lot at Park Place Mall.
