In their first five games of the new 2026 season, the Lethbridge Bulls had lost just once.

They added another game to the win column Friday night, improving to 5-1, in a 12-9 decision over the Fort McMurray Giants at Spitz Stadium.

3rd baseman Luke Wheatley led the way for the Bulls, going 3-for-4 at the plate, including a home run in the bottom of the 5th.

Catcher Noah McNeil and left fielder Karsen Haney also added offence, each with 2-for-3 performances at bat.

Noah Simpson earned the win for the Bulls pitching 28 strikes on 45 pitches, coming into the game to replace starter Shaye McTavish who hurled 85 pitches.

The win, the third straight for the Toros, puts the club in a first place tie with the Okotoks Dawgs, also 5-1, atop the WCBL’s West Division standings.

The Bulls continue their homestand Saturday night and Sunday afternoon against the Sylvan Lake Gulls.

Game times are 6 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
