The final preparations are underway for next month’s Canada Day celebrations at Miners Memorial Park in Coalhurst.
The four-hour event, which goes from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. July 1st, officially kicks off with the opening ceremony at 11:30, before the start of a barbecue and the handing out of birthday cake.
Organizers say this year’s celebration will include a special soccer theme, in honour of Canada co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with a 5-on-5 soccer tournament.
