University of Lethbridge raises flag to recognize June as Pride Month on campus
Like many in the community, the University of Lethbridge is recognizing June as Pride Month and has done so by raising a Pride flag on campus.
Digvir Jayas is the U of L’s president and vice-chancellor and believes it’s key to the overall fabric of the post-secondary institution.
“It’s very important to create a welcoming environment for our students, faculty, and staff, but also members of the community coming to the campus, so everybody should feel valued, respected, and heard.”
The university says this year’s theme, Allyship in Action Now, focuses on the work that still needs to be done to foster a campus where everyone can find a sense of belonging.
