Local MP concerned over rise in the number of children needing area food banks

Lethbridge MP Rachel Thomas feels the Carney government hasn’t done enough to help Canadians with the high cost of living. 

Using food banks, as an example, the Conservative member of parliament says entire families are being impacted everyday.

“In Lethbridge, we have one food bank that has seen the amount of children accessing its services increase, you know, 112 percent in the last four years,” Thomas points out.

“That’s a big deal. That’s little ones. (That’s) our food impoverished having to struggle through, so it breaks my heart.”
