Hurricanes to open 2026-27 season against Highway 3 rival Tigers in 40th anniversary kick-off

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have announced they’ll begin their 2026-27 campaign with a home date against Highway 3 rival Medicine Hat. 

The club says the Dairy Queen Home Opener will take place Friday, September 18th, with puck drop at 7 p.m. at VisitLethbridge.com Arena. 

While it’s the 24th time the two clubs will meet each other in a home opener, it’s the first time since the 2022-23 season. 

The Canes’ record against the Tigers in the first 23 is 13-9-0-1.
