May home sales up year-over-year; down year-to-date in Lethbridge Region

Home sales in the Bridge City were up 2.5 percent last month when compared to May 2025, according to the latest figures from the Lethbridge & District Association of Realtors. 

202 purchases were recorded last month in the city, with 154 classified as single family homes. 

On the flip side, however, total sales for the first five months of this year were down by 11 percent versus January through May of last year. 

The same holds true for rural areas, which includes Lethbridge, Taber, Warner, and Newell counties.

296 sales equals a drop of 10 percent for the first five months of 2026 versus 2025.

The average price of single family home in the city last month was a little over $449,000, up 9.4 percent from May 2025.

Outside city limits, the benchmark was $445,405, a jump of 8.4 percent.
