Just over half-million awarded
Nine Community Capital Project Grant recipients announced by City of Lethbridge

The City of Lethbridge has awarded just over $500,000 to nine non-for-profit organizations.
Under the guidelines, groups can use the funding, which comes from the City’s Community Capital Project Grant, towards planning and design, construction or renovations, or the purchase of major equipment.
Below is a list of the grant recipients in alphabetical order:
- Ability Resources Association: retrofitting existing facility spaces by installing sound attenuation in two of their Lethbridge facilities. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $68,780 CCPG AMOUNT: $22,907
- Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge: expanding the facility with a new artist studio space on 7 Street South. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $20,463.03 CCPG AMOUNT: $6,255.03
- Family Centre Society of Southern Alberta: replacing 29 outdated computers and upgrading the central server system. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $90,000 CCPG AMOUNT: $30,000
- Fleetwood Bawden Fundraising Society: replacing the existing playground with a new, safe and accessible space. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $147,222 CCPG AMOUNT: $49,074
- Hungarian Canadian Old Timers’ Society of Lethbridge: replacing two old 40-gallon gas hot water tanks with a new 80-gallon electric hot water tank with shut off valves, and kitchen upgrades. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $3,367 CCPG AMOUNT: $1,122.30
- Lakie Middle School Society: building two outdoor beach volleyball courts on the school’s lower field. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $102,173.44 CCPG AMOUNT: $34,000
- Lethbridge Fish and Game Association: undertaking comprehensive facility reviews for the LFGA Hut and LFGA Shooting Sports Facility. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $40,000 CCPG AMOUNT: $20,000
- Prairie Baseball Academy: major updates to improve the Lloyd Nolan Yard infield playing surface, warning track, bullpens, and batting cage area by replacing the existing sod, shale and clay with field turf. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $1,400,000 CCPG AMOUNT: $200,000
- Safe Families Canada – Lethbridge Chapter: developing two fourplexes to provide short-term emergency housing for families in crisis. TOTAL PROJECT COST: $1,750,000 CCPG AMOUNT: $138,000
