Smoke from wildfires in northern Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories is expected to blanket skies in southern Alberta through Tuesday night.

Environment & Climate Change Canada is forecasting local smoke from the Alberta-Saskatchewan border west to the BC border.

It’s also issued an Air Quality Warning for the Calgary region for widespread smoke and carries a recommendation for people to limit their outdoor time.

Air quality readings Tuesday for Lethbridge and Medicine Hat are expected to peak at moderate levels of 5 or 6 on a 10-plus scale.
