Lethbridge MP hoping to get out into the community, connect with folks this Summer

Jul 6, 2026 | 4:30 AM

The member of parliament for Lethbridge will remain on as federal Conservative shadow minister for Canadian Identity and Culture.

Rachael Thomas is looking forward to continuing her role after leader Pierre Polievre made some changes to his inner circle in late June.

However, she says focus, at least for the next few weeks, will shift from the national stage.

“You know, summer is an opportunity for us to step away from Ottawa and focus on our ridings,” said Thomas.

“So, I’m very much focused on being in thPostse community and getting to as many events as possible and connecting with the folks that I represent. So, that’s where the bulk of my time and energy is going over the course of July and August.”

Thomas is the currently the vice-chair of a parliamentary standing committee on heritage and has represented Lethbridge in the House of Commons since October 2015.

MPs are scheduled to return for the Fall sitting scheduled to begin on Monday, Sep. 21.
